Mentzelia laevicaulis—Giant Blazing Star Seeds

$4.00
sold out
Giant blazing star is an unusual roadside wildflower attraction in dry areas of the west. It's best suited for rock gardens and/or gardens in very dry and hot areas. Don't listen to me though, you could likely pull this off if you have some garden magic in you.

These seeds were collected by the side of the road in Eastern Oregon last fall. While taking a trip between Portland and California I explored the back roads I used to drive on when I was girl and later a young woman exploring the farthest western edge of the Great Basin.

Germination instructions will be included with your seeds. These seeds do require a long cold stratification process so they're best sown in the fall but you can also artificially stratify seeds in a refrigerator. (about 15 seeds)

Basic Plant Facts:
Mentzelia laevicaulis
Grows 2-4' tall
Biennial or short-lived perennial
