A European wildflower that's become a staple in cottage gardens, this is an easy plant for a beginning gardener to care for and it's a hit with seasoned gardeners as well.

It grows in any kind of soil and once established will naturalize. If removed, and bits of root remain, it will regenerate and grow back again, so be sure to plant it where you'd like it to grow. It prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade.

Known for its unique bloom, this cornflower is shorter than most old-fashioned annual forms. Deadheading will encourage additional blooms in autumn and prevent the plant from reseeding. Regular division is required to prevent it from overspreading.

This flower is attractive to butterflies. Bloom occur from mid-May to mid-June.

Germination instructions are included with your seeds. These will need to be stratified. (about 50 seeds)

Basic Plant Facts:
Centaurea montana
