Lunaria annua—Silver Dollar of Money Plant Seeds
Not everyone loves this biennial plant, but I do very much. It can have a lot of seeds, yes, but if you properly harvest the branches before the pods all open up, you'll be perfectly fine and you'll have some amazing silver dollar branches for your indoor decor! If you'd like to have these ready for a summer event—say for a wedding—mine ripened in late July so I would recommend using them for an autumn or fall wedding. (Since it is a biennial though, remember that it will not bloom until the second year. The first year it will grow leaves and a root system so plan ahead.)
My grandmother and I used to harvest these every year at her home and we'd spend a lot of time peeling away the outer layers, laying bare the lovely glistening silver dollar moon-like insides.
Germination instructions are included with your seeds. These are easy to germinate and grow.
Basic Plant Facts:
Lunaria annua
Grows 24-36" x 15-18"
Likes sun to part shade
USDA zones: 4a-8b
